Repeat Prescriptions

The best way to order your prescriptions is on line, this means you can do it anytime of the day or night. However if you do not have on line access, patients on long-term medication will be requested to complete a form to re-order when collecting their prescriptions. Simply mark the items you require on the form, along with which pharmacy you wish to collect them from, and send it to us or drop it in at reception.

Telephone or email requests cannot be accepted.

Acute Prescriptions (one off items not on repeat)

Please note acute prescriptions may take longer than 48 hours to prepare, so bear this in mind when ordering.

Online Appointment Booking and Repeat Prescription Ordering

In order to book appointments and order repeat prescriptions online, you will need to complete the registration form and either scan and email to Gladstone.referrals@nhs.net or return it in person to the surgery.

You will then receive an encrypted email with your log in details to your verified e mail address. You can then click on the link below to create your account and get started:

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see either a doctor, clinical pharmacist or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.

Please allow two full working days between requesting and collecting your medication.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

  • Prescription (per item): £9.65
  • 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
  • 3-month PPC: £31.25

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website

Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed.

If you have forgotten to order your medication in time you will need to request your prescription in writing or on line before 12pm for it to be available by 6pm that day. We will do our best to action any urgent requests after this time but may not be available until the following day.
